Caden's music has influences from various genres. He explores styles from Classical and Jazz to Techno and Trance.

Caden is a 16-yr-old musician who was fascinated with the keyboard at age two. His first instrument was a Casio VL-1, (pictured at right,) a battery operated mini-keyboard with 29 keys and a ‘one-key play’ function that enabled him to play his tunes at the rhythm he desired. His parents thought it was ‘cute’ when he would pick out notes, seemingly at random, but when he would play them back with good rhythm using the one key function they recognized instantly his talent at picking out tunes and rhythm.

However, times were tough for the young family and with no money for music lessons they continued to be the audience while he played ‘his songs.’ Over the years they were able to purchase a bigger keyboard which Caden played until the keys literally fell off. They never had to encourage him to play. In fact, they frequently had to make him stop playing so he would eat! Caden continued to play and learn without any musical training until he entered the 6th grade and joined the band at Kountze Middle School.

Caden tried out and won a place in the Percussion section of the school band. Over the next several years he won awards with his drumming talents including the highest honors in a regional contest in which the judge personally wrote on his award paper “Awesome Job-Wow!...Congrats!” In the fall of 2006, a new freshman in high school, Caden became a member of the award winning ‘ King’s Regiment,’ the Kountze High School band, the same King's Regiment his father had drummed for twenty-plus years before. However, big changes were in store for Caden just before Christmas of 2006, and not all of them were good.

His parents had secretly purchased a Korg Tritan Extreme keyboard for his Christmas present, trying to fulfill Caden’s wish for a new, full-sized ‘decked-out’ keyboard to replace the one that was falling apart. But just two weeks before Christmas, Caden was hospitalized with severe abdominal pain and bleeding from his bowel. The diagnoses was hard for his family to accept; Crohn’s disease.

Many tests were administered and Caden was given a regimen of drugs to take, some of which caused tremendous side effects, including a rash from head-to-toe. After several months of complications and reoccurring pain, Caden was taken to the Gastroenterology Center at the prominent Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. There his medicine was changed, stronger drugs were ordered and his blood was monitored more frequently.

Caden was withdrawn from public school and taught at home because of complications of his continuing illness. However, he has tremendously enjoyed his new keyboard with its full-sized keys, touch screen and most importantly, the ability to record his music. He also recently started lessons on music composition with renowned musical artist, Steven Hays.

Unfortunately, Caden was hospitalized again in early June 2007, and since then has had numerous doctor visits, an emergency room visit, a myriad of medications and a couple of reactions to the medicines, one of which nearly cost him his eyesight.

We are hopeful he will be in remission soon. In the meantime, he has gone on to distinguish himself with his God-given musical talent.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read about Caden and to enjoy his music. We certainly hope you like it as much as we do.
